What we teach in Video Game Design
Empow’s Video Game Design Club teaches kids about programming logic, coding, and story-telling by capitalizing on their passion for video games. Our classes will cover all areas of Video Game Design (VGD), including designing sprites, building character control, creating an intuitive user interface, and more! VGD Club members start with their imagination, and we help them bring their ideas to life. Each VGD member will also have the opportunity to showcase their video games to fellow club members, allowing for constructive beta-testing in a fun and engaging environment.
Club membership requires a monthly payment of $80 through a credit card or bank account on file with Empow. Monthly payments are processed on the same calendar day that you sign up (Sept 12th, Oct 12th, Nov 12th, etc). We offer a 10% discount for multi-class registrations, and our classes are completely free to existing After-School Club members.
Class meets every Saturday morning, 11:00am – 12:30pm.
Each Club member will be able to take their game creations home and continue to work on them, and share them with family & friends. We provide all equipment necessary for the classes; Club members do not need to bring equipment.
Please refer to our Policies page for more details. For our Studio Classes, we must receive a 30-day cancellation notice prior to the student’s last day in our program.
