Empow Studios a Finalist for 2019 Technology Leadership Award
Mass Technology Leadership Council announces Empow as one of five finalists in the Digital Transformation in Education category.
Boston, MA— Empow Studios was recently awarded a nomination by Mass Technology Leadership Council in the category of “Digital Transformation in Education” for the use of the online Talent Box curriculum in their programs and with their educational partners. Winners of the Mass Tech Leadership Awards will be announced at the All Stars of Tech Winners’ Celebration on November 6th, 2019, at Fenway Park.
Founded over 30 years ago, MassTLC is the region’s largest, most influential technology association; their mission is to “accelerate growth, innovation, and the development of an inclusive tech ecosystem in Massachusetts.” They’ve done so through STEM pipeline initiatives and talent/leadership development, and by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research. The awards are meant to shine a light on the designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who are “leveraging the digital revolution to innovate and re-imagine the future across the Commonwealth’s leading industries.”

Finalists were selected from hundreds of nominations that were then judged by panels of industry leaders in each of the 16 categories. The “Digital Transformation in Education” category finds Empow alongside some industry heavy hitters, Cengage and Curriculum Associates among them. “It’s stiff competition,” admits Empow Studios’ Executive Director Dave Gutierrez.
But the old adage rings true— it’s an honor just to be nominated. “Receiving this kind of recognition empowers us to continue to share our teaching and learning philosophy,” says Nancy Lee, Director of Operations for Empow Studios. “These creative and engaging approaches to education can spark an interest in learning that will help kids build the broad set of skills needed to thrive and succeed in the future.”
