Acton STEM Summer Camps add new Summer Camp programs

Empow Studios adds to its Acton summer camp offerings for 2019

Acton, MA After a successful first summer running STEM camps in Acton, Empow Studios educators will return to the Acton Congregational Church for another summer of fun and learning in 2019. “We’re always trying to expand our summer offerings to give more options for local families. We’re excited to introduce our Java Coding Camp to Acton, to go along with Tech & Design and Minecraft Camps,” says Empow’s Executive Director, Dave Gutierrez.

Empow Studios, which has studios in Lexington and Newton, has led after school programs at Luther Conant Elementary School, Paul P. Gates Elementary School, and McCarthy-Towne School for since 2016, and began offering summer camps in Acton in 2018.

The week-long summer STEM camps, that have expanded Empow’s existing camp network, are geared towards students ages 7-14 and focus on subjects ranging from robotics, 3D printing and coding to stop-motion animation, architectural design, and audio engineering. Campers complete collaborative challenges throughout the week, earning achievement badges that level up from white belt to black belt, and go home with project files to be shared with family and friends.
