Summer Technology Camp – Now in 7 Locations

Families in the greater Boston area have more choices this year when looking for a summer camp that focuses on technology, because Empow Studios has added four new locations to its 2015 camp schedule – for a total of seven locations – in an effort to better address the growing demand for kids to learn computers and design.

During the five-day camp, kids ages 7-13 can make videos and animations, learn to code, make video games, build robots, and try out digital design and music. They can go deep and focus on one technology, or go wide and try them all, combining several disciplines into one epic project.

Parents can find Empow Summer Camp throughout Eastern Massachusetts: Belmont, Brookline, Easton, Lexington, Needham, Newton, and Cape Cod.

Says Leonid Tunik, founder and CEO of Empow Studios, “In 2014, over 400 children participated in Empow’s camps, and these camps were often at capacity. With such overwhelming interest, we knew it was time to expand and bring our unique creative technology camp to even more children this summer.”

New Minecraft Edition

Supplementing the traditional camp sessions is a brand-new Minecraft Edition, which offers a week of game design, world creation, exploration and modding madness. Kids who love Minecraft – or are just curious about what it’s all about – will build virtual worlds while also testing game mechanics in the real world (an outdoor game of capture the flag, for example) and craft their own Minecraft gear using customized paper craft and other supplies. Minecraft Edition is available during select weeks.
