Class runs 9/19/2019 – 12/12/2019 for 12 weeks (no class on 11/28)

Python is currently one of the most popular coding languages because of its simple syntax rules, readability, power, and versatility, making it a great choice as the first programming language to learn.

This program will start by teaching students fundamental programming concepts from the very beginning, introducing them to the syntax of Python, and gently moving them through incremental stages by programming simple 2-dimensional games. Students will start the learning process by modifying existing games and gradually generating their own code. The class will culminate with an individual mastery project that will be a playable, bug-free game designed and programmed by the student using all of the concepts covered in the program.

Program Goal: students will be able to read and write code in python and complete their own bug-free game designed and coded in python to take home at the end of this program.

Coding Concepts: variables, variable types, if statements, for and while loops, and functions.
