Boston Parents Paper taps Empow Studios as a ‘Top 5’
LEXINGTON, MA – According to ‘Boston Parents Paper,’ Empow Studios is among the top destinations for families seeking enrichment opportunities for children.
The publication announced, in its annual ‘Best of the Best’ publication, that Empow Studios was selected in two ‘Family Favorite 2016’ categories. It was awarded ‘Top 5’ winner in both the ‘Enrichment Camp’ and ‘Science & Technology Programs’ categories.
Lisa Braun, Senior Account Executive at Boston Parents Paper, says the Family Favorite awards started fifteen years ago. “Everyone would call and ask us to help them with their choices so we felt we should have our readers vote,” she notes. “We start voting in April and promote online, in print and through emails. In the last few years it has gotten very competitive with about 2,000 families.”
This is the third year in a row Empow Studios has received a ‘Top 5’ award, and the second year it’s received the award for both categories. “Feedback from parents is the ultimate measure of a program’s quality,” says Leonid Tunik, Founder of Empow Studios. “I’m very happy that parents keep telling us we’re doing all the right things, year after year.”
Empow Studios recently expanded its curriculum and added additional summer camp locations. With a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) focus, Empow aims to help young learners discover and build on their creative talents utilizing their core curriculum, including robotics, video game design, animation, story-telling, 3D modeling, digital audio & video, music production, and more.
Empow’s Tech & Design and Minecraft Camp is a week-long day camp operating in 7 different towns, including Lexington, Belmont, Back Bay, Newton, Brookline, Cape Cod, and Westford. Empow’s Minecraft Camps delve into the educational aspects of Minecraft including electrical engineering, architecture, and modding.
In 2014, Empow Studios successfully launched the After-School Club program in Lexington. Enrollment is now open for the 2016-2017 school season.
