Available Positions

Location: Greater Boston area; flexibility to be remote up to 90% with ability to commute to Lexington offices when appropriate. 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salary for this position is $70,000 – $95,000 annually.  This position is full-time and eligible for benefits.

JOB OVERVIEW

As E-Commerce Marketing Manager you will use your consumer marketing experience to define and execute strategies to drive brand awareness, traffic to our website, leads, purchases, upsell, and retention. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to gain a deep understanding of their consumers and competitors; use digital and traditional media to drive awareness, interest, engagement, and e-commerce sales; and use their market understanding to influence decisions about product design and pricing. If you are passionate about e-commerce and K12 education and enjoy the dynamism of start-ups, you will thrive in this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report to the CEO and serve as the lead on key facets of marketing and e-commerce in collaboration with a team that includes an agency, several contractors, and 1-2 staff members 
  • Achieve marketing-driven revenue goals on budget 
  • Improve the e-commerce website to drive higher registrations, e-commerce conversions, and average order size
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives including SEO, search, social, email, etc. to increase high quality traffic to the website in collaboration with our agency  
  • Make sophisticated use of data to report on progress and drive continuous improvement 
  • Drive select complimentary traditional media such as outdoor and direct mail 
  • Gain a deep understanding of our customers through various kinds of market research and data analysis 
  • Develop marketing strategy and budgets 
  • Provide valuable input as we define our product mix and features including pricing

  • 5+ years of work experience implementing integrated E-commerce tactics resulting in increased consumer brand awareness, website traffic, inquiries, leads, and sales
  • Deep functional capabilities in several or most facets of digital marketing and e-commerce such as e-commerce websites, SEO, PPC, email marketing, data analytics, and technology systems to support marketing and sales (e.g., CRM, CMS, marketing automation). Hungry and able to learn additional components as needed.
  • Outstanding analytical abilities; proficient gathering and analyzing rapidly evolving data to drive decisions
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative environment with internal and external partners; experience managing a small team and/or agency is a plus 
  • Track record of outstanding results and rapid career progression

  • BA/BS degree required

Location: Greater Boston

Reporting to the Greater Boston Senior Program Manager, you will be a key member of the regional program team that ensures that all of our STEM after-school classes and camps are delivered to our high-quality standards. In this role, you will lead a team that includes a half dozen site coordinators and more than 25 instructors to deliver our partnership programs primarily for large urban school districts and large community education departments. You will be responsible for hitting quality benchmarks for partners, their students, and your team, and will also collaborate with departments including partnership sales, program design, and recruiting & training.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salary for this position is $60,000 – $70,000 annually.  This position is full-time and eligible for benefits.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious mission-driven leader with extensive experience managing the delivery of K-12 educational program partnerships particularly with Title 1 school districts. You have and want to continue to develop your ability to manage external partnerships and internal teams. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Ensure that partnerships with our educational partners produce positive results for all key stakeholders including the partners, their students, your team, and other departments within Empow Studios. 

  • Directly with key accounts and via your team with most accounts, build effective relationships with partners at all levels ranging from superintendents to local school school staff
  • Ensure that your team delivers high quality programs with fidelity to Empow’s defined pedagogy, curriculum and design; meet and exceed the quality expectations of students and partners 
  • In collaboration with the Sales team, configure our standard partnership solution to meet each partner’s needs while meeting our guidelines and ensuring that your team can deliver it at high quality 
  • Collaborate with other members of the Local Program Team to hire, train, and retain an exceptional team of instructors and site coordinators; ensure that working at Empow is an amazingly positive experience for your team  
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives anchored in deep understanding of our diverse students and the stakeholders we serve; find ways to better serve them 
  • Oversee data collection and analysis; address quality issues proactively; keep shareholders apprised 
  • Advocate for improvements to the Empow program curriculum, training, learning management systems and other systems provided to support your success

  • Experience managing complicated, logistically demanding projects with many details and stakeholders 
  • Experience supporting partnership development efforts in a lead or supporting role; experience finding creative solutions that marry your organization’s capabilities with partner needs 
  • Experience gathering and using data to drive continuous improvement initiatives; experience using academic evaluation data and customer satisfaction data a valued plus 
  • Experience training or coaching teachers or similar educational staff a valuable plus

  • Able and willing to work during program hours which include early evenings (often until 6pm) and occasional weekends. Also able to work at various locations across your region (e.g., Greater Boston) where our partners and offices are situated
  • A BA/BS degree or higher in education or a STEM field or appropriate equivalent experience is required

Empow Studios is looking for energetic and enthusiastic technology-loving instructors for our school year programs. Each week class you get to hang out with 10 awesome kids and help them have a great time learning and building cool stuff. No prior experience teaching tech is necessary, but prior work with children is a must. 

This is a fun and rewarding job where you can learn valuable skills for your future career. We invest heavily in our instructors with extensive paid training and an on-the-job coaching program! Our instructors learn how to facilitate project-based learning and develop important leadership skills such as relationship building, “employee” motivation, giving actionable feedback, and enabling others. You will also be trained on a variety of technologies to prepare you for your classes. All of our instructors leave with a formal evaluation letter that can be used as a letter of reference. 

This job is a great fit for college students, teachers, and educational paraprofessionals looking for a fun part-time experience. This job is also great for people looking to break into informal education professions such as after school care or museum education. We offer a fun, supportive environment working with kids who love coming to class.

  • Build a creative community with your group of 10 students, who are 2nd to 8th graders
  • Support your students through problem-solving and designing, providing troubleshooting when needed

  • Work with our Programs team and your Site Director to develop and hone your teaching practice 
  • Participate in showcases where students show off their amazing projects to family and friends
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Volunteer or paid experience working with children from 2nd – 8th grade

  • Ability to clear background checks 
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation to at least one of our locations

You believe in your power to multiply your impact through supporting a group of awesome in-classroom educators.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Oversee approximately 4 classrooms each day, indirectly supporting more than 40 2nd to 8th graders.
  • Work with your instructor team to develop their classroom management skills
  • Build strong relationships with the onsite staff of our partner programs, enabling you to work proactively and collaboratively to resolve issues
  • Support your team in finding creative ways to help students design projects they are excited about
  • Provide additional troubleshooting and technical support
  • Learn about and share your excitement about digital design
  • Help students work through conflicts and behavior challenges and develop their social-emotional skills
  • Collaborate with students’ caregivers, including the staff of our partner programs, to foster and celebrate success
  • Ensure that your sites meets or surpasses Empow’s high quality standards

Our Site Directors are expected to visit all of their sites on a regular basis, but are not expected to travel between sites on most days. Travel between sites should only be necessary in response to an emergency.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Demonstrated success as an instructor of elementary or middle school students in a camp, school, or after school program (any subject matter, volunteer or paid)
  • Comfort with technology and interest in the specific techs we teach (experience not required!)
  • Ability to clear background checks
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to support instructor distributed across multiple, nearby sites
  • 21+ years of age
  • A high school diploma
