‘Boston Parents Paper’ Awards Empow Studios Additional Honors
Empow Studios is thrilled to receive increasing acclaim by ‘Boston Parents Paper.’ Last year, Empow was selected in two ‘Family Favorites 2016’ categories in the publication’s annual ‘Best of the Best’ listings. It was awarded ‘Top 5’ winner in both the ‘Enrichment Camp’ and ‘Science & Technology Programs’ categories.
For the ‘Family Favorites 2017’ listing, Empow Studios has received awards in five categories:

Representatives at ‘Boston Parents Paper’ say the ‘Family Favorite’ awards started sixteen years ago after parents began asking for help with choices. Since then, the publication has asked readers to vote for their favorites each spring. The effort has grown to include about 2,000 families.
This is the fourth year in a row Empow Studios has received a ‘Top 5’ award and the first year it’s achieved overall ‘winner’ status. Founder Leonid Tunik believes the Empow curriculum, a highly qualified staff and a great relationship between educators, students and parents makes the difference. “We’re very fortunate to work with families who recognize the value of what we do, and we must be doing something right!” says Tunik, who adds that feedback from parents is greatly appreciated.
With a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) focus, Empow helps young learners discover and build on their creative talents utilizing their core curriculum, including robotics, video game design, animation, coding in Scratch & Java, 3D modeling & printing, digital audio & video, music production, and more.
Empow Studios’ STEM After-School Club in Lexington features an enhanced curriculum this year with fun perks for students, and Empow runs a variety of annual vacation and summer camps in numerous locations across eastern MA, while offering year-round programs like one-day NanoCamps, weekend clubs, birthday parties, and private lessons. Each fall, Empow coaches teams in the FIRST® LEGO® League program.
“It’s nice to see that if we continuously improve our program quality, curriculum, teaching, and customer service, we can get recognized for awards like this,” says Empow Studios’ Outreach Director David Gutierrez. “It’s one thing that Boston Parents Paper nominates us, but the real achievement is that parents voted for us.”
