Reading STEM Summer Camps add new Summer Camp programs
Empow Studios expands camp offerings to serve Reading & North Shore families
Reading, MA – Educating students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is considered essential to boost possibilities and prepare them for a changing world. Now, Reading area parents looking to enhance summer learning and enroll their children in STEM programs have more options close to home.
Empow Studios, which has studios in Lexington and Newton and currently runs classes at Reading Recreation and Reading Library, will offer camp at Austin Preparatory School this summer. “Reading is my hometown where my wife and I are raising a child,” says Dave Gutierrez, Executive Director at Empow. “The enrichment activities that this community has to offer are quite substantial, so it’s extra special that Empow will be adding a STEM component to the town’s after school and summer activity options.”
The week-long summer STEM camps, that have expanded Empow’s existing camp network, are geared towards students ages 7-14 and focus on subjects ranging from robotics, 3D printing and Java coding to stop-motion animation, architectural design, audio engineering and Minecraft. Campers complete collaborative challenges throughout the week and go home with project files to be shared with family and friends.
